Karen’s powerful commitment to serving the community fuels her drive to run for City Council.
Community service is an integral part of Karen’s life. For several years she has served on the Madison Street Festival Committee. Like everyone else, she is quite disappointed that the Festival was canceled this year. Karen also volunteers for Meals on Wheels, Kids to Love and ReadyFest, various JustServe.org events, as well as provides childcare at the Downtown Rescue Mission. Time spent serving at Good Samaritan Hospice has a special place in her heart. Karen honors the Veterans by servicing within the VA Hospital system.
Karen graduated with two business degrees, a Bachelors and a Masters Degree, from the University of Georgia. Her major was in Commercial and Industrial Real Estate. Her graduate studies focused on the factors which industries consider when choosing between different locations. Following her studies at UGA, Karen studied British real estate principles at the University of Reading in Reading, England.
Karen’s husband, David, worked for the Department of Defense. The couple has been married for over 30 years. They met while studying business at UGA. The two went on to have a family with 5 sons – Daniel, Jason, Tyler, Jordan and James. Their youngest son, Jordan, graduated from the University of Alabama and the rest of her sons are striving to reach heights in their specified niches. The family lived in England, Germany and Italy for a total of 12 years.
Karen Denzine believes in providing better alternatives to our ever-growing community in order to maximize opportunities and promote steady development.
